These are the clubs and groups that are available to students at Eastside.

Academic Bowl

Academic Bowl is open to 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. Auditions are held in September. Students who are interested in trivia are encouraged to audition. There are several Academic Bowl meets. Parents must transport students to the meet after school according to the schedule. Our area includes schools in Coweta, Carroll, Harris, Heard, and Troup counties. Eastside Bobcat Chorus

Eastside Bobcat Chorus is a great way to develop not only your love for music, but will also encourage team building, performance confidence, and of course... fun! Chorus is an auditioned group open to 4th and 5th grade students. Chorus will meet once a week, on Tuesday afternoons until 3:30 pm. It is very important to remember that Chorus is a yearlong commitment. Please discuss this with your child before you allow them to audition. Chorus auditions will be held BEFORE school between 7:30 - 8:00 am. Students will prepare a song of their choice (school appropriate) or I will provide a familiar song to choose from. Chorus admittance will be based on audition AND behavior. The names of the students that make Chorus will be posted before the first rehearsal. The Chorus will have two performances at Eastside as well as opportunities to showcase their talent in our community during the school year! Sponsor: Mrs. Lewis (ashleegrace.lewis@cowetaschools.net)

Junior Beta Club

Junior Beta is a service organization for fifth grade students. To be invited to join you must have had an A in conduct and have a 3.5 grade point average in fourth grade. You then must maintain a B average in fifth grade. Different philanthropies that we support are Benton House, Coweta Humane Society, Backpack Buddies, and Midwest Food Bank. We collect donations for the Coweta County Community Food Pantry through a can-a-thon held each year in November. The Junior Beta club meets after school once each month. Running Club

Running club is an athletic club open to all students in kindergarten through fifth grade. We meet every other week September through December to run laps around Eastside's track. The running club meets after school on Thursdays. Students are dismissed at 3:20. Sponsor: Mr. Shaner (brendan.shaner@cowetaschools.net)

Spirit Squad

Spirit Squad is an exciting cheer club designed for students in grades 3-5 who want to build confidence, teamwork skills, and school spirit! In this fun and supportive environment, members learn the basics and fundamentals of cheer leading, including motions, chants, jumps, and simple routines. Spirit Squad focuses on developing coordination, positive energy, and leadership skills while encouraging students to work together and celebrate one another's growth. Spirit Squad members showcase what they learn through community involvement and school functions. Sponsors: Mrs. Shelton, Mrs. Andrews, Mrs. Thomas, & Mrs. Tirado (hannah.shelton@cowetaschools.net)

K-Kids

K-Kids is a global, student-led service organization designed specifically for third and fourth grade students. The program provides young members with valuable opportunities to build strong character, develop leadership skills, and make a positive impact in their communities through meaningful service projects. Participation in K-Kids helps students grow into compassionate, responsible learners while working together to improve the world around them. Membership is limited to twenty third and fourth grade students, and all interested participants must complete and submit an application to be considered for the club. 4-H

All 5th grade students participate in 4-H. The mission of Georgia 4-H is to inspire youth to utilize their knowledge, skills, and attitudes in working towards a more self-confident, self-sufficient individual. Meetings monthly during the school day in all Coweta County School System fifth grade classrooms. Students have the opportunity to gain skills in leadership, public speaking, and citizenship. Monthly curriculum supplements Science and ELA standards. One part of 5th grade 4-H is participation in Project Achievement. 4-H Project Achievement is a self-directed individual competition including presentations and, when age appropriate, a documented record of project work, leadership, and service based on experiential learning activities. Youth have the opportunity to explore an area of interest and share their knowledge through a competitive process. Projects are offered in more than 50 different areas. In 5th & 6th grades students prepare their demonstration in school and at home. Individual demonstration practice with 4-H staff available. County Competition is held in January and District Competition is held in February.
